Your health is your wealth.
As an entrepreneur, you’re put to the test mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually every single day.
When you own your own business, you’re not just working in your business, you’re working on your business, and there are always a million legitimately important things you need to be doing. As a result, the things we need to do for our health and physical and mental wellbeing often get pushed to the bottom of the to do list (where our dreams go to die).

Yet we feel guilty for taking the time to take care of ourselves.
In most business, you’re taking care of the needs of others. In fact, that’s the very essence of starting a business; identifying and solving an immediate need for your customer or client. You’re so passionately committed to their needs that it feels wrong, unimportant or impossible to make time to take care of yourself. When you do, guilt often follows.
The story we tell ourselves is that when we have more time, money, clients or success, we will somehow create the space we need to honor our own bodies, minds and hearts.
The problem with this thinking is that self-care is a reward for getting your shit done, and not a gradually developed, necessary, and daily habit. If you grow your business with the bad habits that sacrifice self-care, changing them later will be way more challenging and could compromise what you’ve built.
This actually delays your success.
Your business can only be as healthy as you are.
You have to build a business that supports you and the lifestyle you want. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t go into business for myself so that I could work more, feel crappier, and have less time, freedom and money than I did in my corporate job. If you’re stressed out, overworked, run down, and feeling emotionally taxed and financially strained, you’re sending the wrong vibration to the world.
Like attracts like. This negative state creates more negativity. If you want to create the business and life that inspired you to take this step in the first place, then you must cultivate the entire picture every day.
The 15-1-1 rule is a simple and hugely powerful way to create the experience of having exactly the life you want immediately. It sets you up to feel energized, inspired, abundant and free in your business later by practicing feeling all of that now.
Here’s how it works:
15 minutes every day
Every day, spend 15 minutes doing something small for you. I recommend starting your day this way to take charge of your energy, space, and time from the minute your feet hit the floor.
Stretch, meditate, breathe, hot towel scrub, or sit on your porch and drink tea and read. There’s no rule here and it doesn’t have to be the same every day. Do whatever helps you feel connected, centered and positive.
1 Hour Weekly
Each week, spend an hour doing something a little bigger. Get a massage, take a long walk, sit and watch clouds, whatever you need to feed your soul. It’s incredible what having an hour a week just for you can do for your energy, health, and stamina to push through when things get rough.
Hitting the reset button once a week supercharges your productivity and coping skills.
1 Day Monthly
Each month, spend one day to create the abundance mindset by living as if you were already where you want to be. Do something extravagant, take a DAYcation, go to a full day spa, take a cruise, shop for luxurious cars, shoes and homes. Save up your indulgent purchases and pack them all into one fabulous day each month (not a bad way to reign in the impulse purchases either).
For those who are thinking “but I really don’t have the money to buy my dream car…”, well, last time I checked, you don’t need a credit check to fake rich and test drive Range Rovers or hit up open houses in fancy-pants neighborhoods. Just put on the fancy pants and play the part.
Dream, believe, and LIVE that day as if you have already arrived where you want to be.
By fully embracing the abundant lifestyle that you’re working to create every day, you shift your vibration to allow you to receive all of the goodness that you dream of and deserve instead of struggling with the “I’ll have it someday” mentality that keeps your dream stuck in “someday.”
Live your dream to live your dream.
The rest of time.
Get your 15, 1 and 1 on your calendar and commit to them. Treat the time as non-negotiable and don’t schedule over them.
When you start creating the small daily, weekly, and monthly habits that cultivate happiness, relaxation, fun, creativity and abundance in your life now as you build your dream, they’ll only be amplified when you get there.
You may be surprised how close you actually are.
