Introduce yourself and your business as if you were speaking from the cockpit.
I'm Tori Mistick, a social media consultant and Jane of all trades. My main gig is working with local businesses on their social media. This includes implementing everything from Facebook updates, to creating a buzz on Twitter, writing a blog with my original photography or updating their website. In addition to that, I have the pleasure of coordinating the Shadyside Chamber of Commerce, which allows me to work with tons of local business owners and market an entire neighborhood. If that isn't enough, I also produce and design for a couple of spectacular fashion shows throughout the year.

How do you show your personality through your style? How does your style relate to your business?
I like to wear pieces from local or independent designers that are unique and can set off an otherwise basic outfit. Since my business is based out of my home office, I don't usually get too dressed up during the day, but I would never be caught dead working in my pajamas! I believe how you dress can have a huge impact on your business, and since mine is called Marketing With Style, I always try to dress my best for meetings to set the tone. This way my clients know I will put just as much effort into making their online presence as stylish as possible.

If you could name a nail polish color after yourself or your business, what would it be?
Since nail polish colors have to be cheesy, I would go with NoTORIous. A high gloss black with a touch of silver sparkle. Not to be confused with a short lived reality show starring Tori Spelling.

Not all flights are smooth. Tell us about how you handle turbulence in your business.
Being an entrepreneur and working by myself, I've found that it's really important to have somebody in your life who you can vent to. Just like in the air, turbulence in your business is very stressful while it's happening, but usually disappears quickly and you forget it even happened after a while! When you work by yourself, you loose that office repartee that takes the heat off certain situations.

Who is the wind beneath your wings?
My two chocolate labs, Lola and Lucy. Although they can drive me absolutely insane at times (like barking while I'm trying to do this interview), their unconditional love is always appreciated! I take them for hikes in Frick Park almost every day, and that time away from my computer allows me to think through work situations, come up with creative ideas, or just appreciate nature. Without the dogs, I probably wouldn't take the time to do that.

Advice to other women as they navigate the business world?
Be nice to absolutely everyone!
