We are super excited to introduce Rachel Vallozzi, the first of our Style Summit Spotlights.

Rachel is fun, funky, and vibrant. Just like her closet.

We asked Rachel to share a little bit about herself, and her business Buttercup Blues, so that you could get to know her before you meet her at the Style Summit.

Name: Rachel Vallozzi
Business: Buttercup Blues

Introduce yourself and your business as if you were speaking from the cockpit.
Hey everyone, I am Rachel Vallozzi, personal stylist, closet consultant, and personal shopper. Welcome to the flight that will lift your spirits! Before you walk off this plane, be prepared for confidence building, closet coordination, and a lesson in self love. When we land you will enter the new landscape revealing the most beautiful aspects of your inner self through the outfit we coordinate together.

How do you show your personality through your style? How does your style relate to your business?
I love to add splashes of color or multiple patterns, pulling out the brightness in my personality or revealing the dualities in life with the two patterns. My style relates to my business in that I stay current with my knowledge of trends, but do not follow them if they don't suit me...or rather, adjust them as they suit me...or maybe a little of both.

If you could name a nail polish color after yourself or your business, what would it be?
Well, my business name is Buttercup Blues. That sounds like a pretty fun nail polish color!

Not all flights are smooth. Tell us about how you handle turbulence in your business.
I am a firm believer in learning from every experience. If the same issues continue to come up, it means I am not paying attention to something - a lesson the universe is desperately attempting to teach me.

I love to digest and analyze an experience at the end of a run, making decisions about how I will handle things differently the next time around and appreciating myself for the great work I did.

I also believe in affirmations. For example, before i have a session with a client I affirm that our experience together is exactly what they need from me. That I am understanding their needs, their personal style and that the clothes and outfits we need are coming together easily. I also affirm that my experience with them is exactly what I need, that they will touch my soul in some way and that our time together will be fun!

Who is the wind beneath your wings?
On commercials and indie films, my assistants. They hold it together and keep things running as smoothly as possible and they make me laugh.

In all of life, my best friend. A conversation with her opens up ideas and perspectives i was not seeing and helps to move me along my path, brings comfort and encouragement when i need it, and gives me an opportunity to break from my own world and enter hers.

Advice to other women as they navigate the business world?
Appreciate yourself daily. Affirm that you are always doing your best. Ask for the help you need. Set boundaries. Don't under-sell yourself or your services.
