Allow us to introduce you to our Social Media Maven: the wonderful, magical, and delightful Maggie Graham.
Maggie joined the Propelle team a few months ago, and we couldn't be more excited to have her on board. She is our meeter and greeter. Our tweeter and facebooker. And, of course, an all around swell chick.
See below for Maggie's thoughtful Q&A. And then go find her on twitter (@magsg), so you can enjoy her witticism first hand.
Introduce yourself and business as if you were speaking from the cockpit.
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! This is your captain Maggie speaking. Please buckle up and prepare for today's flight into the world of social media. No need to be scared, I'll take you through each step! Before you know it, you'll be tweeting with the best of them.
When did you earn your wings?
I'm still earning them as a member of the Propelle flight crew! I've been in the PR and social media field in some capacity since 2008.
If you could name a nail polish color after yourself or your business, what would it be?
Playful Pink - Pink is without a doubt my favorite color, and I'm a firm believer in balancing work with play!
Not all flights are smooth. Tell us about how you handle turbulence in your business.
A lot of my snags come from being pretty new to the game. I handle that by reaching out to folks who are more seasoned than I am, reading up on a subject on the Internet, and (of course) taking my questions to Twitter! I like to solve problems by learning from people who know.
Who is the wind beneath your wings?
I'm so lucky to be learning from the three amazing women of Propelle - Kate, Carrie and Emily. I also have an amazing mentor in my organization's Executive Director. She's a strong, well-respected woman and I admire her ability to be tenacious, humble and caring all at the same time.
Advice to other women as they navigate the business world?
My advice is the same whether women are navigating the business world, the nonprofit world, or any world: be yourself. You'll be comfortable and regardless of the outcome, you can leave any situation knowing that you stayed true to who you are.
