Gina Mignogna Vensel- My fab partner in crime and brain twin. Gina's constant quest to learn more - be better - grow stronger makes me strive for the same every single day.
Mary Beth Beggy- GSM of WWSW & WKST at ClearChannel and creative, marketing & sales genius (and one of the most inspirational women I know)! Not only is MB a success in business, but she is one of the most charitable, giving women I have ever met. She inspires me to be a better person every day.
Patricia French- Grandmother, entrepreneur and current president of the BMNECC (at age 81!)- if you look up "dynamo" "original diva" or "force-of-nature" in the dictionary, you will surely find her picture (look for her profile on Facebook!)
Advice to other women as they navigate the business world?
Always "say it with a smile". I have found, throughout the years, even when in difficult negotiations or approaching difficult subjects, that a smile goes a long way. Nothing unnerves an opponent more than a genuine smile- and nothing seals a deal with confidence more than a grinning flash of your pearly whites! You can hear a smile in someone's voice and that type enthusiasm becomes infectious. A smile is your best weapon when facing challenges- reminding you and others that you don't "sweat the small stuff" and can take on even the most difficult people and projects without so much as batting an eyelash.
A popular opinion in business is that in order to be a female business owner in a tough industry and "run with the big boys" that you must be some sort of cold, steely man-eater. You may think as a women entrepreneur that this is rather shallow, soft, girly advice, so I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes "Anyone who has a continuous smile on his face conceals a toughness that is almost frightening."- Greta Garbo
Good Luck and remember to smile. :)
