Introduce yourself and business as if you were speaking from the cockpit.
This is co-pilot Kate, welcoming you aboard flight #287. On this flight, we're going to be celebrating you, cultivating your passions and making a plan that will bring your dreams to reality. Once we reach our cruising altitude, we'll be starting our in-flight service that will leave you refreshed, motivated and ready for any challenge that comes you way!

[I introduced myself as co-pilot of Propelle, but I'm also part of several other endeavors: website development at Plumb Media, my massage therapy practice and my blog, Yinzpiration. I promise I will introduce these ventures in captain speak upon special request!]

When did you earn your wings?
I've had an interest in entrepreneurial ventures ever since I was a child.

I did it all—from lemonade stands and car-washes to babysitting and yard sales. Recalling these first business pursuits puts a smile on my face.

If you could name a nail polish color after yourself or your business, what would it be?
Take Action Tangerine!

I learn what works best by trying new things.

Not all flights are smooth. Tell us about how you handle turbulence in your business.
I’ve no doubt had my fair share of rough air. There have been times when working for someone else has seemed like a much easier path.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is deciding how to manage my time (I cast a wide net in terms of passions), and how to balance all the responsibilities that come with managing several businesses.

What helps me find clarity amidst the chaos? Taking a break—a true break—away from my desk with a good old fashioned pen and paper. This especially helps when I find myself paralyzed from information overload.

I also believe in the importance of self-care. I make time for meditation, yoga (I'm currently partaking in a 30 day yoga challenge!) , and massage. Additionally, I find dancing to be quite therapeutic. If you've ever attended a wedding with me, you may have noticed that I have difficulty leaving the dance floor! It's amazing how clear things get—both in business and life—once you start taking care of yourself.

Who is the wind beneath your wings?
My Mom - She’s always learning, reflecting and writing. She takes risks. She is not afraid to be open. She also knows how to kick back, relax and enjoy a bowl of cherries while watching the sunset. It’s been fun getting to know her better in my adult years and I love dreaming up business ideas with her.

Advice to other women as they navigate the business world?
Pay it forward. Show gratitude. Give generously. Volunteer. Celebrate others again and again.
