Just do you, boo.

Photo Credit: Porter Loves Photography One of the biggest nuggets of awesome from the Bridging The Gap panel discussion came in the form of an off-the-cuff comment from panelist Akirah Robinson.

In response to a question about how to infuse more of your own personality and style into a drab, corporate setting, Akirah said this:

Just do you, boo.

It sounds so simple, so obvious. And yet, here this woman was, questioning whether she could wear brighter colors or a more modern suit and still fit in.

The fact of the matter is this: when you do you—when you are confident, comfortable, and happy in your own skin—it radiates into every single aspect of what you do.

It makes you more successful at your job. It allows you to connect with people more easily. And it allows you to infuse more joy and excitement into your day to day routine.

All that, just by doing more of what makes you happy.

Your turn.

What can you do to infuse more of you into your day to day?

Is it wearing a funky headband? Is it putting together a playlist of your favorite songs so that you can get "in the mood" while writing? Is it talking about your guilty pleasures more? How about sharing a picture of your collection of fountain pens?

We'd love to see what you come up with, so snap a picture and send it our way! If you post it online, make sure to tag us @wepropelle and use the hashtag #justdoyou
