How to lavish on the praise (and truly mean it).

Complimenting someone in a truly authentic and meaningful way is a serious art. And we want to help you hone your craft. Here are three tips (and a template!) to help you craft a killer compliment and lavish on the praise. | wepropelle.com

Hello, you shining star, you.

There is nothing quite so invigorating or magical as telling someone else what makes them brilliant. It's like shining a light on them that gets reflected (and magnified) back on you.

Complimenting someone—in a truly authentic and meaningful way—is a serious art. (Tweet this.)

And we want to help you hone your craft.

This can be done in-person, via email, over Twitter, or anywhere else you can send a little love bomb to another person. If you need some practice, feel free to try it out on your fur-baby (or human baby) first.

3 WAYS TO GIVE AN AMAZING COMPLEMENT:

  1. Find something you genuinely like about the person. A truly great compliment goes deeper than surface level stuff. The key here is to pick something that you truly appreciate and say why. Instead of just saying "Nice shoes!" try "You always have the most amazing shoes. You inspire me to step up my shoe game."
  2. Highlight what really matters to someone. Complimenting someone on what they're really good at, proud of, and have worked hard on is a surefire way to light up their day. If you know someone has spent countless hours on their website updating it, acknowledge that with a "Wow. You've really been working hard on your website. I just love how it's so easy to navigate."
  3. Dig deep! Finding a not-so-obvious fact or characteristic about someone that you admire. Perhaps it's the way they take care of a family member or how they foster stray animals. Digging a little deeper shows that you truly care and are interested in the person that you're complimenting.

A LITTLE LOVE BOMB

Not sure how to tie it all together? We've got you covered with a handy dandy template to get you started.
