How many times have you said (out loud or to yourself), that you want to
- Make more money.
- Have more clients.
- Not work so damn hard all the time
If you're like most people, the answer is all.the.time. The truth is, most of us just keep plugging forward, not knowing how to get off the hamster wheel and make a change.
Here are 5 things you can do RIGHT NOW, to create the space in your life and business for the things you really want.
1. Clear out your wallet.
This is a great place to start if you're looking to bring more money in. Clear out all the receipts, get rid of cards that you don't need or use, and organize your bills in an upright position (creates good money juju according to feng shui). If your wallet is totally worn and abused, it may be time to upgrade and get a new one.
2. Clear out your email.
Looking to create space for new clients, partnerships, or collaborations? Clearing out your email inbox is a really great place to start. Whether you're Team Keep Everything or Team Inbox Zero, going through old emails and archiving anything that isn't relevant is a powerful way to say "I'm ready." An added bonus is catching things that have slipped through the cracks.
3. Clean up your desk(top).
It's time to tackle that stack of papers sitting next to your computer that you've been avoiding. If your file cabinet is already jammed with papers that you haven't touched for a decade, perhaps it's time to sort and toss. Conversely, if you have a thousand and one documents saved to your desktop, spend some time filing them away and getting yourself organized.
4. Clear out your closet.
Yep. We totally went there. It doesn't have to be as drastic as the KonMari method, but letting go of the clothing that brings you down is a powerful act. Whether it's clothing leftover from your corporate days or things that just don't fit or flatter you anymore, let that shizz go.
5. Clear your mind.
To quote the brilliant women of En Vogue: Free your mind, and the rest will follow. Two ways to do this: journaling and meditation. Journaling helps you see underneath the noise, while meditation helps to slow it down and clear it out. (Read a primer on mindset journaling here.)
