We inspire women entrepreneurs in the Pittsburgh region to take flight and grow their businesses beyond what they ever imagined possible.

Propelle, launched in the fall of 2011, is a collaboration between Kate Stoltzfus and Emily Levenson.

Our mission is to shine the light on the amazing work women entrepreneurs in the Pittsburgh region are doing, to foster a community of supportive and creative women, and to provide the tools and resources necessary to help women grow and evolve, both personally and professionally.

Everything that we provide through Propelle is something that we’ve wished for ourselves. We know how lonely it can be out there, particularly when you’re striking out on your own. We also know how valuable a local community of like-minded women is to your (continued) success.

Propelle started with a heavy focus on networking events, bringing women entrepreneurs in the Pittsburgh region together to support each other and lift each other up. Four years in, and we are still as passionate about building a strong and supportive community of women entrepreneurs as we were when we launched.

With a robust newsletter, in-person networking events, our private members-only community, thrice-yearly jam sessions, or our Mastermind group, there is something for every budget and every level of business.

If our time with Propelle has taught us anything, it’s that women supporting women is a powerful force to be reckoned with. And it will be even more impressive with you.

Kate Stoltzfus

Kate Stoltzfus helps women entrepreneurs excel through courageous connection.

In her ideal world, dinner parties would outnumber meals in front of screens, handwritten notes would be just as common as a tweet, and heartfelt conversations would happen every day. One client described her insights as, “a pitch perfect blend of intuitive knowing, warm hospitality, and willingness to challenge.”

As a connection enthusiast, she’s been featured in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, WTAE-TV, and Pop City. She was recently honored as a 40 Under 40 recipient from Pittsburgh Magazine.

When she’s not connecting up a storm, you can find her hosting clothing swaps, listening to vintage vinyl, taking road trips with her husband Nik, and snuggling with her cat Sgt. Pepper.
